For procurement teams
The right requirements make procurement simpler for you and fairer for every bidder. Here you will find a supplier-neutral checklist that you are free to copy straight into your requirements specification, together with the facts you need for your internal work.
Nine requirements for every school analytics tool
The requirements deliberately use mandatory wording and remain supplier-neutral: put them to every bidder, including us. They cover what determines whether an analytics tool is defensible in operation (permissions, statistical rules, open data, logging and documentation) and contain no feature lists.
Each requirement includes a short rationale for your internal material. The document ends with a response matrix in which every bidder states whether the requirement is met in the existing product (not on a roadmap) and where this is documented.

How Vklass analys meets the nine requirements
Put the requirements to us as well. Here are our brief answers, and they apply to the existing product.
-
Role-based permissions
The permissions model is built in and enforced on the server side. The school authority, principals, mentors and subject teachers see exactly what their role requires and nothing more.
-
Suppression of small groups outside your permissions
Permissions decide the student level. The principal sees their school, the mentor their students and the teacher their groups, by name within their permissions. Small groups are suppressed only in comparisons outside your own permissions, for sensitive background variables, on maps and in surveys. Every opened student list and every export is logged, and values that the Swedish National Agency for Education has suppressed in its open data remain suppressed when shown by us.
-
Open and configurable early-warning rules
Every signal follows an open threshold rule that your school authority can read and configure. Vklass analys uses no machine-learned risk scores about your students, and flags are never shown to students or guardians.
-
External benchmarks from open data
The Swedish National Agency for Education's official statistics by school unit, national values, SALSA and Kolada are retrieved as open data and displayed directly in the reports. SALSA is the agency's tool for local correlation analysis. The values are updated when the sources are updated.
-
Support for the national quality system's sub-goals and indicators
The Swedish National Agency for Education's sub-goals and indicators are mapped by school form. They come with official values compared with the national level and an export of material for the quality dialogue. The source data is in the same system as the analysis.
-
Export logging
Every export of student-level data is logged with the user, time and scope. This applies to report tables as CSV and student lists to Excel, as well as every opened student list and every time names are shown. Traceability is built into the product and does not rely on manual routines.
-
Data storage in Sweden or the EU/EEA
The service is operated in Sweden, and all personal data is stored within the EU/EEA (the European Union and the European Economic Area). Hosting providers and subprocessors are listed in the data processing agreement.
-
Support for SS 12000
Vklass supports information exchange according to the Swedish standard SS 12000. Vklass also provides ready-made extracts for analysis and reporting tools (BI extracts) through an application programming interface (REST API) in JSON or CSV format, for your own data platform.
-
Documented DPIA material
Documented material for your data protection impact assessment (DPIA) is included with the product: processing activities, data flows, retention periods, subprocessors and built-in safeguards.
